Neochori is an ancient village near the popular small town of Stoupa.

Stoupa is just 7 km away from the historic area of Kardamyli, which is mentioned by Homer. This beautiful town has many boutique shops and a choice of great restaurants with amazing views.

Neochori is perfectly located to explore the Peloponnese.

The area is dotted with stunning mountain villages and Mani towers stand guard. There are beautiful walks to Monasteries and churches with spectacular views.

Agios Nicholas is another beautiful village to visit with a quaint harbour and large choice of quality restaurants.

The climate

The climate is warm and sunny most of the year. The mountains capture the clouds ensuring that the area stays green, and the springs supply a plentiful supply of fresh water.

How to get there

The nearest airport is about 60 minutes away at Kalamata, where there are frequent flights from London Heathrow and Gatwick with BA, Easy Jet and Jet 2. Transfers can be arranged or there are many car hire companies offering a range of cars.

The history

It is an area steeped in history Kazantzakis and Zorbas met at Kalogeria and started their friendship, the area inspired the novel ‘Zorba the Greek’. Mani has a rich history and a strong reputation for the bravery of its people.
